Palm Sugar is a natural sweetener made from the sap of various species of palm trees, including the date palm, palmyra palm, sugar palm, sago palm, and coconut palm.
The sap is collected by cutting the flowers buds of the palm tree, then it is boiled down to thicken and crystallize, forming a dense, brownish sugar . Palm sugar has a distinctive caramel – like flavor and can be used as a substitude for other sugars in cooking and baking.
